A core problem in Knowledge Organization is the unequivocal identification of a subject (or item, object, person) and of that subject’s associated defining attributes. A number of initiatives – such as the Semantic Web and Topic Maps – are exploring different approaches to this problem. This ISKO UK community is dedicated to gathering information on past and new developments and to discussing their relevance to the common problems encountered in Knowledge Organization.
